As the long days of summer give way to the onset of darkness, we find ourselves turning inward. Our thoughts turn to contemplation of the past and preparation for the future. We naturally look for ways to nurture our mind, body, and soul, to tend to the inner spark and gather support around us.
This is a time to honor our deepest needs, to tend the embers of your dreams, to take back you power and rejuvenate yourself.
The past year has been a difficult time for some of us. There has been loss of loved ones and teachers, faith and love, homes and sanctuaries. Some of us feel a lack of fortitude as we inch closer to winter and long for support and community. While others stand stead fast in face of adversity. Each of us have our own path to fallow and unique ways of coping with what comes our way, but each of us feel stronger in community. we find strength in the arms of friends, courage in the ways of leaders, tenacity in the play of children, and perseverance in the eyes of the elders.
Let us gather in love and community, support each other as we embrace the darkness, and tending the embers of our dreams. It is said that only in the darkness can the stars truly shine their light upon the world.
We will call in courage, tenacity, strength, and perseverance to encourages us as we dance with our sorrows and joys, sing our heart songs, and honor the inter connectedness of the light and the darkness.
